    Your system does not match the minimum requirements necessary. Please take the appropriate actions to correct the errors.

    PHP Version >= 4.3.0 (has green check)
    MySQL Version >= 4.1.0 (has red x)
    Correct User and Password for MySQL (red x)
    Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46) Establishing a Connection to Database [mysql]
    Unable to connect to MySQL Writable Data Folder [./data]

    I have verified that the server is running MySql 4.1.14 and double and triple checked passwords, etc. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

  2. Based on this error message:

    Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)
    Establishing a Connection to Database [mysql]

    It seems you have incorrect database hostname. Are you using the default "localhost"?
    Make sure to check again the hostname, each hosting company usually have different database hostname.

  3. UPDATE!

    This is running on a Yahoo webhosting server. After much digging around I found a suggestion to change the host name from "localhost" to "mysql". Success! Now I see:

    PHP Version >= 4.3.0
    MySQL Version >= 4.1.0
    Correct User and Password for MySQL
    Establishing a Connection to Database [mysql]
    Writable Data Folder [./data]

    All with green check marks. I click on "run installation" and then get:

    MachForm Installation Report
    An error has occured during installation.

    An error has occured during installation

    Access denied for user 'chris'@'localhost' to database 'mysql'
    Access denied for user 'chris'@'localhost' to database 'mysql'
    Access denied for user 'chris'@'localhost' to database 'mysql'
    Access denied for user 'chris'@'localhost' to database 'mysql'

    The database says "chris" is my user name but I tried the above name, too. No success.

    FRUSTRATING!

  4. Is your database actually named "mySQL"? It's either not finding the actual database (you have created one, right?) or it's not finding the user associated with it. You may need to read up on creating databases and users - refer to your hosting's help/documentation on database creation and usage.

    check: the database name, the database username and database user's password - this is not the same as the "admin" user in Machform itself, the one I"m talking about is the database user.

    This appears to be a hosting issue not with Machform, but you can submit a installation request to Yuniar, who can do this form you.
