   I can't seem to find anything on the forums to help with this need: I'm trying to build a grid for recording inventory of a number of items. I'd like the label to be to the left of the number entry box so that they stack vertically, preferably in two columns (I found the two column part of the solution).

   So basically, I'm looking for:

   Item_1 _______
   Item_2 _______
   Item_3 _______
   etc......

   Simply go to your form properties tab and select "Left Aligned" for the "Label Alignment" property.
