I want a block of read only text -- it is greater than the allowed length for the default value of the Paragraph Block Text. Any idea how to allow more text?

Have you tried the 'section break' field? This is not an "input" field in the normal sense of the word but you add the section break like any other field in the form editor.
I don't know if there's a character/word limit on it. Is that what you're after?
