    Hi,

Is this possible to send the data as a PDF?

I'm afraid at this moment there is no way to send the data as PDF. However, we're receiving increased requests regarding this feature now and will consider it further for future improvement.

Is there any idea when we can expect this. We need this urgently :-).

I was just about to ask the same question. We would need some way to save a digital copy of our form, since it's an application and we would need to archive it on our Google Drive for others to access.

I just saved my email notification version of the completed form to RTF and was then able to export that to PDF, but it would save some steps if the data came directly in the PDF format.

Thanks for considering adding that feature!

Check out http://webmerge.me. You can pass your form data to them and they can export it in either Word or PDF based on templates you setup. It does cost about $20 per month for 100 exports.

Edit: Forgot to mention that if you need them saved automatically to Google drive, check out the Zapier (https://zapier.com/) Webmerge/Google Drive zaps. This can all be done automatically for a little $.

You may even just be able to use the Zapier webhooks to post to Google but I haven't used that function

While the PDF is not an option, is there a way to export the data to a Google Sheet with each submission?

Absolutely want this option also. I think having an option to show uploaded files (on/off) would be a great addition.

I decided I wanted this too. So I attempted to write my own. I used FPDF and have had some success. I can at least get a record to display. So now I need YOUR help to finish this off.

    If you really want this.

The code starts around line 928 in manage_entries.php. For some reason I can only get one record to export from the selected record (hope that makes sense). So if anyone can see what needs to be done I and others would greatly appreciate it.

Be warned however that the output is VERY generic - this is after all very alpha.

Here is the link for the additions: http://www.kcmhosting.com/files/mfPDF.zip

    REMEMBER:
Backup the files before overwriting them!! I will not be responsible for a messed up system because you didn't follow common sense IT procedures.

The files are all in their respective folders within the zip file:
    main.css goes in to css/main.css
    manage_entries.php goes to root
    export_entries.php goes to root
FPDF directory goes to the root as well.

I also included the FPDF zip file as well as the unzipped distribution of FPDF (a requirement).

Hope you can find this useful!!! and maybe help the process along! (Yuniar... hint, hint)...

    Regards,

    Hey all,

It's fixed now (sort of). Download it if you want from http://www.kcmhosting.com/files/mfPDF.zip - the only file that was changed was export_entries.php so just overwrite that file.

The only issue with it - is that in the .csv and .txt file there is an error line from FPDF complaining about headers already being sent, but the data is there (the complaint is always on the last line).

Each record is displayed on a separate page in the pdf filie.

Hope you like and can use this.

I should mention that his is for version 4.2 only.

No problem! I hope you can use this as a base for an upgrade and hopefully make it more compatible and prettier.

    UPDATE:
I've updated the distribution so that it's compatible with 4.2.3, although I'm not sure if any of the files changed from 4.2. I just thought I would use the 4.2.3 files and update it so that you could just "plop" the files in and you'd be up and running right away.

    Download the archive here:

yep, a known issue. This is just a thrown together sort of program and FPDF causes one error in .csv, .xls, and .txt files - it's the very last line and complains about headers already being sent.

Update on this, the feature to let you send the form data as PDF file within the email is coming into the next version update (v4.4), soon! :-)

Well, that should make a lot of people happy. This is not a feature that I feel an urgent need for, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of our users would use it, once it becomes available and I let them know about it.

What does "soon" mean? I've been waiting for this feature for over 3 years. I'm about to give up on matchform and move on to other companies that progress faster which what we need. Shouldn't have to wait this long for such a basic, standard feature.

If you'd like to generate customized PDF, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents from your form entries, you can use a service called WebMerge. Here's an article that outlines how to generate an invoice: https://www.webmerge.me/blog/populate-a-customized-pdf-invoice-from-machform

Each form you setup can be attached to a unique document/template and it can be emailed, sent to cloud storage like Box or Dropbox, or even sent for e-signature with services like DocuSign or CudaSign.
