hi bsimpson - if you think there is some value in this and you do manage to achieve something - can you let me know. I downloaded MachForm last night - and I am going to see if I can use it on a multi-page job in its basic form and sort by date created. My feeling is that this form won't get too many hits per day (<5) - and this offers fantastic value for people like myself who are not code experts. I am just a web designer and have wasted a lot of time researching multi page scripting - without really being able to understand the finer details of the coding functionlity. I have found many websites that mention multi-page forms - but once you get into the CSS and the javascript - they are fairly onerous for the likes of me. jQuery seems to work for the experts but I need the ability to make a large form quickly on a smaller budget job - so I am going to give this a go. For the price, spped of setup and also just for the obvious attention to detail by yuniar to the forums - I think its a win win even if the Client doesn't agree. I can always use it on another job.

i have an idea about this, on the forum i saw a discussion about passing variables in the address bar to the form, (such as www.form.com/machform/view.php?id=1?$title=funtime not exact syntax but you get the idea)

if you could create a random number or even use user info to create a poor mans hash and store it in a hidden field ( such as name + phone#) and then pass that in the redirect address bar, then use that as a means to sort data, so when you view entrys sort by that field and all forms that are bob555-555-5555 would be grouped together. It is not perfect, but i think for people not processing tons of data / forms it might work. I think java/css show hide tabs make the most sense. Maybe if i get time, I will modify my php and set it up where i can insert the virtual page breaks via the gui editor. I have done some tests, but the necessary java was causing alot of grief with loading the form to edit.

edit: didnt see the entry above me, thats basically what i was thinking

Hmmm - I see what you mean. Thinking out of the box - would it be possible to somehow take a field entry from one form page - such as an email address entered on the first page - and then somehow pass it as a hidden field to the next page in a multi-page form. As so on through each individual page - so from within the Form Manager - the Client can search under email address and collate all entries in such a fashion?

The potential problem with "Date Created" is when there are multiple users simultaneously submitting the form. Thus their entries will be mixed up each others.

While the "IP Address", is when your users are behind proxy. It is possible that many users are using the same proxy server, thus the same IP address being recorded onto MachForm.

It's a problematic problem :(

Hi Yuniar,
It seems there are a lot of people looking for multi page forms - me included. I was thinking about the solution you have mentioned. Although the big problem is that each form submission is saved as separate entry - it might be ok for a few people. I need a large multi page form - and i don't have the coding skills to do it. If I do what you suggest - I could simply use the 'Choose Columns' option and use 'IP address' and 'Date Created' to enable the separate entries to be reassembled into a definable order that the Client can make use of via the Form Manger.
Its not a perfect multi page solution but it may be a solution for some people that are considering using MachForm. Can you see any problems with what I suggested?

MachForm currently doesn't support multiple page forms. So I'm afraid it won't be able to do what you need correctly.

It is possible though, to create those three forms and set the redirect of the first form to your second form and your second form to your third form. However, each form submission would be saved as separate entry, which I suppose is not what you are looking for. Sorry.

A key feature for me if purchasing this product is to be able to make forms which are split over several pages, e.g:

Step 1. Select your order details
Step 2. Contact information
Step 3. Billing information

All data would be submitted at the end, but would be great to capture as the users progresses through the pages as well.

Can you tell me if this is possible?

Thanks!
